Local libraries are offering events and programs for all ages. Here’s a look at what’s planned.

• Blizzard of Books, a weekly reading challenge for students in kindergarten through fifth grade, runs through Feb. 25.

• Gaming Club meets from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22. Teens and tweens grades six to 12 are welcome to join. Have fun playing video games on the library’s Xbox, Nintendo Switch and Wii.

• Story Time, designed for the youngest pre-K readers, runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23.

• Tuesday Afternoon Book Club meets at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Call to reserve a copy of John Green’s “The Anthropocene Reviewed.”

• We Love Our Library Day runs from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10. Kids in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to stop in and make a Valentine’s card for seniors, as well as take part in other activities.

• The Armada Genealogy Society meets at 10 a.m. Feb. 15. Meetings are open to anyone interested in researching their family genealogy or helping to collect/preserve genealogical and historical data for the Armada area.

• Adult Craft Night is set for Feb. 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This month’s craft: Spiral Paper Flower Hearts.

• Movie Tuesday will take place Feb. 7 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The movie presentation for February is “Ticket to Paradise.”

• The Fiction Book Discussion Group will meet on Feb. 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The book selection for February is “Beartown” by Fredrik Backman. The group welcomes new members.

• The Creative Writing Group will meet on Feb. 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those who love to write can practice and discuss writing in an encouraging environment.

• “Science of the Circus!” will take place Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The educational show will explain the science, math, and physics behind the circus.

• Game Day for Adults will take place Feb. 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The library will provide board games, but participants are welcome to bring their own.

• Books and Babies will run from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays through March 1. Children ages 6 months to 24 months old with their caregivers can enjoy lapsit songs, interactive baby rhymes and simple storybooks, followed by playtime with toys.

• Read to Echo or Olive on Wednesdays through May 31 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Children who have a hard time reading can gain confidence in their skills by reading to a trained therapy dog.

• Toddler Time will take place on Mondays through Feb. 27 and Thursdays through March 2 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Toddlers with a favorite adult can enjoy interactive stories, songs and games that encourage their emerging language skills.

• The Makerspace will be open to the community on Feb. 4 from noon to 3 p.m. Drop by the library to explore the library’s new portable makerspace. Use the 3D printer, Glowforge and more. Staff will be on hand to assist in using the equipment. Funding for the project is provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan. All ages are welcome.

• On Tuesdays through April 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, or VITA, program: Tax Preparation and Filing Services, will be available at the library. Macomb County Veterans Services has partnered with Macomb Community Action and the Accounting Aid Society to offer free tax help for local veterans and low-income individuals and families. • Kids Craft runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 7. Children ages 6 to 10 can have fun and be creative. Filling out registration form is required for a child to participate in the project due to limited space and supplies.

• An Adult Get Together runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 8. Color, do a puzzle, play cards or sit and chat.

• Preschool Craft runs from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 11. Children younger than 5 years old can have fun doing a craft. Filling out registration form is required for a child to participate in the project due to limited space and supplies.

• A Chocolate Party for ages 12 and older is set to run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 14. Participants will make chocolate treats to enjoy. Filling out a registration form is required for participation due to limited space and supplies.

• The library board meets at 6 p.m. Feb. 16.

• Movie Night runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 20. The program is geared toward children up to age 10 but all children and families are welcome.

• Teen Night runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 21. Students in grades six to 12 are invited to stop by the library for crafts, snacks and more. This month, the group will be making yarn bracelets.

• Crochet Meetup is set to run from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 22. Crochet enthusiasts of all skill levels are welcome to attend. The library will provide the crochet tools necessary, but participants are also welcome to bring their own or an ongoing project to work on.

• Lapsit Plus for ages 16 months to 36 months runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Feb. 7, 14 and 21.

• Hooks & Needles meets at 6 p.m. Feb. 14 and 28.

• Richmond Readers will meet at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 16.

• The Thursday Thriller Book Club meets from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2. February’s book is “The Book of Cold Cases” by Simone St. James.

• Baby and Me Storytime takes place at 10 a.m. Feb. 3 and 10. Stop by the library for a book, songs and fun. Registration is required, but walk-ins will be accommodated where space allows.

• The Friends of the MacDonald Public Library will host a book sale from 11:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 3 and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 4.

• Make-It Mondays runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 6. Join local crafters in the community room to work on projects and share expertise.

• Toddler and Preschool Storytime takes place at 10 a.m. Feb. 2, 7 and 9. Join Ms. Kelly at the library for stories, songs and fun. Registration is requested. Walk-ins will be accommodated as space allows.

• Teen Confetti Key Bowls is set for 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7. Join Gigi at the library to make a decorative bowl out of confetti, mod podge and a balloon.

• Writers’ Wednesday runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 8.

• Crafts for Adults runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9. Registration is required to ensure enough supplies.

• Puzzle Day runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 11. Puzzles will be set up in the community room for participants to work on.

• Celebrate Library Lovers Month by visiting the library between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. Feb. 1 to receive a heart to decorate for a valentine or loved one. All hearts will be displayed in the front windows for the month of February.

• Storytime, featuring stories, songs or crafts with a mix of poems, puppets, finger plays and movement activities that promote literacy, runs from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 2 and 9.

• Conversation and Crafts, open to teens and adults, runs from noon to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and 11. Participants can pursue their own projects while learning from others who share their passions.

• Cookbook Club meets at 6 p.m. Feb. 8. The theme is “Use a ‘red’ ingredient/Valentine’s Day.” Bring a favorite recipe and a sample to share.

• Valentine Heart Painting is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 7. Use paint and Q-Tips to create a heart-shaped silhouette perfect for a Valentine’s Day gift or decoration. Registration is required.

• Pastel Rainbow Hearts takes place at 11 a.m. Feb. 11. These rainbow hearts are a fun way to practice with a fun art medium while also learning about creating art. Registration is required.

• The Ira Book Club meets from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 14. Contact the library for the current month’s selection.

• Snacks and a Show runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 11. Celebrate the month with the film “Hidden Figures.” In the film, three female African-American mathematicians provide crucial calculations for NASA’s space race against the Soviets, all while dealing with the racist and sexist assumptions of their white co-workers.

• The Teen Advisory Council meets at 5 p.m. Feb. 15. Teens can have their voices heard by discussing what they would like from their library and helping to develop the programs they want.

• Adult Craft Corner runs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 23. Socialize with other crafty people with glass bottle macramé.

• Storytime, featuring a blend of stories, rhymes, music, and movement, followed by a creative activity time, for preschoolers, runs from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Feb. 7, 14 and 21.

• Mahjong will be played from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 7, 14 and 21.

• Marshmallow Constellations, set for 5 p.m. Feb. 7, invites children to learn about the night sky and the basic history of constellations. Participants will practice using a star wheel and build their own constellations out of marshmallows and toothpicks.

• Valentine’s Day Card Make and Take is set to run from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 8. Teens can design their own handmade Valentine’s Day cards using supplies provided by the library.

• Make a farmhouse chic fairy light jar from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15. The library will provide the jar, fairy lights and an assortment of decorative accents.

• Mahjong will be played from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 8 and 22.

• Canasta will be played from 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 1 and 15. The card game resembling Rummy is usually played by two pairs of partners. The goal is to collect sets, or melds, of cards. Beginners are welcome.

• After School Snack Attack, for ages 2 to 12, runs from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 3. Visit the library for a snack series presented by MSU Extension. Bring an adult and try making healthy snacks, while also enjoying games and crafts.

• Storytime features a blend of stories, rhymes and songs at 10 a.m. Feb. 3, 10 and 17.

• Cowboy Quilted Placemat is a two-part class that uses basic sewing and embroidery skills. Participants are required to take both classes to finish their projects. Bring a sewing kit; all other materials are provided. The classes run from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Feb. 2 and 9.

• Get to know famous historical figures better by creating a one of a kind piece of art work using a technique that will transfer an image onto a painted background during an acrylic image transfer activity set to run from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

• A Senior Valentine’s Party including soup, salad and games is set to run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Lunch will be provided by the Friends of the Memphis Library. Registration is requested.

• Valentine’s Self-Care & Movie Night for teens is set to run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Feb. 14. The event will include water color painting, face masks, nail polish, snacks and the movie, “Valentine’s Day.”

• The Third Thursday Book Club meets from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16. Refreshments will be served. Registration is required.

• Rhythm & Rhyme, which introduces little ones to the sounds and rhythms of language through short poems, stories and music, followed by play, runs from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 7, 14, 21 and 28.

• Movie Night will feature “Just Mercy” at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 1. A powerful and thought-provoking true story follows young lawyer Bryan Stevenson and his history-making battle for justice.

• Beginning Belly Dance is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 6 and 13. All shapes and sizes celebrated as Ms. Anne teaches the art of Egyptian belly dance.

• Adult Crafting Corner-Acrylic Pour Painting for Beginners is set for 6 p.m. Feb. 8. Participants will be given an 8-inch-by-10-inch canvas and three different paints to mix, pour and swirl on the canvas.

• Genealogy Circle meets at 6 p.m. Feb. 9. Meet with fellow researchers and learn the ins and outs of researching family history. No experience is necessary.

• Bad Movie Night, featuring “Cats,” is set to run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Popcorn will be provided.

• A Chocolate Passport Tasting event is set to run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 15. Participants will sample a variety of chocolates from around the world, rank their favorites and share their thoughts on each offering.

• The Friends of the St. Clair County Library – Port Huron/Main will meet at 1 p.m. Feb. 17.

• Get to know famous historical figures better by creating a one of a kind piece of art work, using an acrylic image transfer technique that will transfer an image onto a painted background, at 4 p.m. Feb. 1.

• Grocery Curbside App Pickup Demonstration is set for 3 p.m. Feb. 3. Learn how to shop online for groceries and pick up curbside. Participants will learn how to download the app, add items to their cart, check out and pick up. Bring a smartphone, tablet or laptop.

• Community Sing takes place at 6 p.m. Feb. 8.

• The Marilyn Zweng Book Club meets from noon to 2 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Voyager Restaurant, located at 525 S. Riverside Ave. in St. Clair, to discuss “White Lies:  The Double Life of Walter F. White” by A.J. Baime.

• The St. Clair Cookbook Club meets from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 21. Bring a favorite recipe and a sample to share. Call the library for the theme of the month.

• Dinner and a Movie is set to run from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22.
